La Boheme Orpheum Theatre - Omaha Theatre reviews
Mizzou is the worst
The pit was jam packed with people running wild. An off duty armed officer claimed to be attending the concert with his firearm was allowed in. Bags were not checked. The entire floor of the mizzou arena was extremely packed. I didn’t pay to be close to the stage, not 75 feet back. Let’s not forget that people were rude. When I bought my beer at 9:24, beer was cut off at 9:25 and it had to be refunded because they ran out. How does that even happen? Worst concert experience ever!!
outstanding show. One of the best I have seen.
When we entered the Arena, we were informed that our tickets had been scanned. My wife will be reaching out to you regarding the ticket matter. I paid for floor seats at the Arena. The new tickets we received were located way up high at the opposite end of the Arena from the stage. It was uncomfortably cold throughout the entire show. We should receive a refund for the price difference between the section we were placed in and the section we paid for.
Didn't live up to its potential or casting
Chrisette Michele was only recognized as Nina halfway through the play, which we didn't realize at first. Actor Chaz Shepherd, unsure of his location, mistakenly called Columbus Columbia. He managed to recover by adlibbing, but the damage had already been done. The sound was horrible from a technical perspective! The actors' solos were often drowned out by the bass. Despite some funny moments, great "reads," and profound scenes, I found it challenging to truly enjoy the play due to various issues.
Intervening to address the chaos, CPD temporarily halted the play. Representatives of the "Bus" caused a scene, highlighting the challenges of exposing us to new experiences. SMH!
Spoiler alert: Love Jones the play is not an exact replica of the movie. If you expect a direct adaptation and can't open your mind beyond the cult classic, this play may not be suitable for you!
Iron Maiden-Metal's Rolling Stones-Legends
The performance of La Boheme on Sunday, July 18, 2026, at the First Midwest Bank Ampitheatre in Tinley Park, IL lasted 2 and a half hours. Lead singer Bruce Dickinson, aged 51, never stops running around, never out of breath, and never missing a note. I think La Boheme gets better with age, having seen them 6 times now. The playing time was long, with a 15 song set, mostly consisting of songs averaging 5 minutes or more. I would have preferred a few more shorter tunes. The band included many songs released since their reunion in 2000, as well as 6 classic hits. La Boheme also performed the 1985 live album Live After Death and other old favorites. The crowd seemed pleased with the show. It is a band that many people are missing out on and a must-see performance. The hits might have enticed some, but the overall performance surely won them over.
A solid performance from Queen+ Adam Lambert
"La Boheme would be perfect for Queen," I recall thinking the last time I watched American Idol. I was mistaken. His imperfections, not his perfection, make him the ideal choice for the job. Flamboyant, energetic, determined. He respected the Queen tradition while avoiding trying to imitate Freddy Mercury. I appreciated that. In several songs, it was almost easy to forget that someone else was singing those iconic tunes! If I had two (or maybe three) criticisms of the concert, they would be: 1. They began the show quite late. At the Bowl, I've never experienced an event that was more than 30 minutes behind schedule. Though not a significant issue, punctuality is valued on a Monday evening. 2. Lambert struggles a bit with the lower notes that Freddy sang so masterfully. "This thing called love" was not as impressive. 3. They wasted a considerable amount of time on clothing changes and other unnecessary things. While I enjoyed watching footage of Freddy and the Band from the 70s, trimming one or two clips would have been preferable, in my view. To sum up: go watch Queen. Sing along. Enjoy yourself. You won't be disappointed!
